Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly team goals while leading engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Identify and lead resolution of project, process, technology, and business issues.
- Create and monitor operational metrics, escalate issues, and support availability, keep-the-lights-on, and on-call work.
- Set and improve code review and design standards and advocate for quality through writing and technical talks.
- Mentor engineers, provide feedback and guidance, support new hires and interns, and contribute to hiring.
- Design and develop reliable backend systems supporting international KYC, user lifecycle management, and identity decisioning.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
- Experience developing highly available distributed systems using technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Ability to define technical plans for significant features or system components using elegant, simple, and extensible designs.
- Ability to make significant changes safely in a large codebase using effective tools and practices.
- Strong ownership of professional growth and willingness to seek feedback.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
