- Manage production services by measuring and monitoring availability, capacity, and overall system health.
- Provide system design consultation, capacity planning, and launch reviews before software goes live.
- Drive system scaling and improvements to capacity and reliability.
- Practice incident management and conduct blameless postmortems.
- Build improvements to system behavior, controls, monitoring, and observability tools.
- Define and maintain Service Level Indicators and Service Level Objectives.
- Engineer automation and self-healing capabilities to reduce operational toil.
Requirements
- Experience with one or more of Java, Python, Perl, and Node.js.
- Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, ownership, and collaboration skills.
- Minimum of 3–4 years of experience and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field involving programming.
- Experience with automated testing, SDLC concepts, Linux application development, algorithms, data structures, and software design.
- Proficiency with observability technologies such as distributed tracing, logging, metrics, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or OpenTelemetry.
- Desired experience with SRE, relational databases, Hadoop, big data technologies, and financial industry or compliance/risk functions.
- Familiarity with cloud-native architecture and managed services on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Understanding of SRE concepts including error budgeting.
