Responsibilities
- Establish standards for logging, metrics, and tracing.
- Collaborate with teams to identify metrics for evaluating system and component performance.
- Build tooling and infrastructure for efficient metric emission, aggregation, storage, dashboards, and alerting.
- Contribute to the technical roadmap to improve system scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Participate in on-call rotations and reduce incident response times.
- Optimize observability costs through expense analysis, improved visibility, retention policies, streamlined queries, and resource right-sizing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 7 years of production-level experience with Python, Java, Scala, C++, or similar programming languages.
- Experience developing software for large-scale distributed systems.
- Familiarity with metrics collection, health monitoring, and observability tools.
