Responsibilities
- Lead cloud integration for ingesting, processing, and visualizing data from edge radar units.
- Design resilient distributed systems for bursty, high-frequency telemetry and low-latency command-and-control loops.
- Research and prototype backend technologies for radar management, data updates, and real-time telemetry at scale.
- Define and lead authentication protocols for secure device-to-cloud communication and support data privacy requirements.
- Partner with the Principal Engineer for Edge IoT to define contracts and protocols between on-radar logic and cloud resources.
- Mentor engineers and elevate design clarity and pragmatic engineering practices across the radar-cloud stack.
Requirements
- Expert proficiency with AWS cloud-native services for high-throughput device data, including IoT Core, Kinesis, Timestream, and Lambda.
- Deep experience leading resilient distributed systems handling high-frequency telemetry and low-latency operations.
- Deep understanding of software security, authentication, authorization, and data privacy frameworks.
- Proven experience as a Tech Lead guiding architecture and implementing complex backend services for physical assets at the edge.
- Understanding of edge constraints, radar-data serialization, cloud schemas, intermittent connectivity, and bandwidth limitations.
- History of driving technical teams to meet commitments and delivering customer-facing products in rapid R&D or aerospace and defense-adjacent environments.
- Ability to provide technical leadership for scalable, secure, edge-aware cloud platforms.
