Base Salary

$107k - $226k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Analyze requirements and design, develop, integrate, debug, verify, and validate firmware, drivers, software components, unit-test frameworks, verification systems, and DevOps tools.
  • Lead and participate in architecture, specification, design, implementation, code, and review activities.
  • Collaborate with firmware, chip design, emulation, validation, and applications engineering teams on pre-silicon development and post-silicon bring-up, debugging, troubleshooting, and customer support.
  • Investigate and resolve issues reported internally and by global customers in laboratory and field environments.
  • Develop, review, and maintain engineering documentation and customer-facing technical materials.
  • Mentor junior firmware engineers and contribute to process adherence and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 15 years of Embedded Application Software or high-level Embedded Software development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in C and at least one assembly language.
  • Expertise in SoC, RTOS, multithreading, and SMP firmware development.
  • Experience developing products using one or two high-speed protocols such as PCIe, CXL, InfiniBand, SAS/SATA, NVMe, Ethernet, or FC.
  • Experience designing firmware for silicon products across emulation, validation, applications engineering, pre-silicon development, post-silicon bring-up, debugging, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong research, analytical, problem-solving, documentation, communication, ownership, and collaboration abilities.
  • Experience leveraging AI to assist firmware and software development is valued.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-site teams and mentor engineers on complex firmware projects is valued.
