Responsibilities

  • Interact with Silicon One customers on product adoption, software development, documentation, technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Gather customer requirements and pain points and implement software improvements and customizations.
  • Design and develop control-plane and data-plane software features for Cisco Silicon One network processing units.
  • Develop software in modern C++, the Silicon One network processing language, and Python.
  • Define requirements, scope features, and drive development from start to finish as the lead engineer.
  • Own delivery of high-quality software on schedule and lead design, implementation, and code reviews.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and collaborate with architecture, hardware, and software teams on ASIC products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 8+ years of related experience, or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 6+ years of related experience.
  • Prior software development and integration experience using C++ or Python.
  • Prior experience with networking protocols and technologies such as L2/L3, MPLS, BGP, and OSPF.
  • Prior experience with analytical reasoning, debugging, and tools such as GDB or PDB.
  • Experience with algorithms and data structures.
  • Preferred experience with cloud, data center, or edge networking products.
  • Preferred experience with SAI, SONiC, or another Network OS.
  • Preferred experience writing, testing, and supporting software for high-performing and scalable networking products.
