Responsibilities
- Own the software design and development of core components and major features in the Block Storage Service.
- Design broad distributed-system interactions and work across the backend stack and low-level systems.
- Solve complex problems involving distributed systems, virtualized infrastructure, large-scale storage, and highly available services.
- Develop clean, scalable software for cloud storage infrastructure serving customers across more than 60 regions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience delivering large-scale, highly available distributed systems and backend services.
- Extensive experience developing clean code in C/C++ or similar programming languages.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multithreading, and distributed-systems fundamentals.
- Working familiarity with networking protocols including TCP/IP and HTTP.
- Ability to work as a distributed-systems generalist in a collaborative environment.
