Base Salary
$133k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate critical, scalable services including user identity, friend graph, and core persistence systems.
- Collaborate across teams to understand product requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver solutions.
- Test, debug, and maintain high-quality production-ready code.
- Apply best practices for availability, scalability, operational excellence, security, and cost management.
- Use AI tools and high-velocity engineering workflows while auditing generated output for architectural integrity, performance, and security.
- Participate in incident or hotfix investigation and resolution as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent years of practical work experience.
- Two or more years of post-bachelor’s software development experience, or a master’s degree plus one or more years of post-graduate software development experience, or a PhD in a relevant technical field.
- Experience working with distributed systems and backend services.
- Experience operating highly available systems at significant scale.
- Ability to independently execute medium-sized features over several weeks and multiple pull requests.
- Experience in at least one of large-scale microservices and distributed systems, cloud computing and storage systems, infrastructure and large-scale system design, security, networking and data storage, or machine learning and natural language processing tools.
- Experience with Java, C++, and/or Python is preferred.
- Experience with NoSQL solutions, Memcache/Redis, Kubernetes, or Google/AWS services is preferred.
