Responsibilities

  • Support the availability, capacity and reliability of complex production environments.
  • Provide Level 2 and Level 3 operational support, lead incident response, perform root cause analysis and implement preventative improvements.
  • Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting and logging capabilities using service metrics, SLOs and SLIs.
  • Improve automation, infrastructure-as-code, configuration management and deployment practices across the environment.
  • Collaborate with engineering, development, platform and operational teams to deliver secure and reliable deployments.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, Systems Engineer or in a comparable infrastructure-focused role supporting production environments.
  • Experience administering Linux/UNIX environments, including troubleshooting, performance analysis and operational support.
  • Ability to develop automation using Python, Go, Bash or similar scripting languages.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet or Chef.
  • Knowledge of monitoring, logging and observability practices and the use of operational data to improve reliability.
  • Experience supporting virtualised or cloud-based environments using technologies such as VMware, AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
  • Ability to investigate complex incidents, contribute to root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Experience in Defence, national security or other highly regulated environments is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with fault-tolerant, large-scale production systems, high-availability infrastructure, secure systems administration and operational governance is advantageous.
  • Must be an Australian Citizen with an active TSPV security clearance and the ability to successfully obtain and maintain a DISA/OSA.
