Base Salary
$160k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain embedded flight software for aircraft flight control, navigation, communication, and avionics systems.
- Collaborate with hardware and systems engineers on software and hardware integration.
- Write efficient, documented code that meets aircraft performance and safety requirements.
- Develop software requirements, design documents, and technical documentation.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, software testing, debugging, system-level tests, and simulations.
- Support safety-critical software development and documentation for regulatory compliance.
- Stay current with embedded flight software technologies and apply them to aircraft systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in embedded flight software development.
- Professional programming experience in C and C++.
- Experience with embedded flight software development tools and methodologies.
- Preferred: experience with RTOS or embedded Linux for real-time applications.
- Preferred: familiarity with CAN, RS422, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC429, and other low-level hardware interfaces.
- Preferred: experience with fault-redundant design and safety-critical processes such as DO-178C or MIL-516C.
- Preferred: knowledge of avionics, flight control, and navigation systems; startup experience is a plus.
