Responsibilities
- Build and maintain high-performance backend services, APIs, and cloud-native Node.js applications.
- Design applications for edge execution using CDN-based compute and serverless edge functions.
- Design NoSQL databases and search indexes supporting end-to-end API flows.
- Address complex scalability, performance, caching, latency, and runtime-constraint challenges.
- Mentor engineering peers and promote high standards for code quality and development practices.
- Evaluate technical trade-offs involving cost, risk, and effort while considering customer impact.
- Use modern infrastructure and emerging technologies to support revenue-driving digital features.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in API development.
- Expert programming skills in Python, JavaScript, and Node.js.
- Hands-on experience building, deploying, and operating Node.js applications on AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar hyperscale cloud platforms.
- Strong understanding of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS models.
- Experience with edge execution, CDN-based compute, serverless edge functions, request/response transformation, caching, latency optimization, and runtime constraints.
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB, search technologies such as OpenSearch, and graph databases.
- Familiarity with API standards and frameworks and the ability to learn new backend technologies.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing decision-makers across an organization.
- Preferred experience using AI-assisted coding tools, automated test generation, code review support, documentation acceleration, and workflow automation.
- Preferred experience with GitHub Copilot, Claude, and GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving, written communication, spoken communication, and distributed-team collaboration skills.
