Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, configure, optimize, automate, and support enterprise database and cloud data platform solutions.
  • Translate data architectures, technology roadmaps, modernization initiatives, and business requirements into implementable engineering designs.
  • Provide senior technical contribution and Level 3 support for platform incidents, performance issues, integration failures, security events, and production outages.
  • Implement database security, authentication, RBAC, service account governance, encryption, access controls, auditing, governance, and compliance requirements.
  • Design and support backup, recovery, replication, failover, disaster recovery, high availability, and business continuity capabilities.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, query execution, storage, indexing, warehouse consumption, scaling, and workload management.
  • Develop infrastructure configurations, deployment standards, provisioning automation, environment refreshes, cloning processes, monitoring integrations, runbooks, and operational procedures.
  • Support ETL/ELT pipelines, analytical platforms, reporting environments, Power BI integrations, data engineering solutions, and enterprise data consumption patterns.
  • Support database deployment pipelines, CI/CD processes, release activities, change management, and production readiness assessments.
  • Conduct root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, evaluate emerging technologies, and recommend improvements to architecture, security, governance, performance, cost, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers, DBAs, contractors, and platform support personnel.
  • Partner with infrastructure, cloud engineering, cybersecurity, architecture, application development, analytics, vendor, and operations teams.
  • Support cloud migration, platform modernization, database consolidation, and data platform transformation projects.
  • Create and maintain technical designs, implementation guides, support procedures, platform standards, architecture diagrams, and knowledge-transfer materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience supporting, engineering, administering, or developing enterprise database and data platform technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with multiple enterprise database platforms, cloud data services, or analytical data technologies.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting production-grade data platform solutions in medium to large enterprise environments.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical production systems across performance, availability, security, reliability, and incident response.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and cloud-native database services.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture, administration, performance tuning, security, RBAC, warehouses, storage optimization, replication, and automation.
  • Knowledge of Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Microsoft Fabric, and data warehouse architectures.
  • Understanding of database internals, query tuning, indexing, partitioning, storage management, statistics management, and workload optimization.
  • Experience with enterprise-scale analytical and reporting environments, data integration patterns, ETL/ELT architectures, API integration, and data movement technologies.
  • Knowledge of data security, governance, compliance, privacy controls, auditability, and least-privilege access principles.
  • Experience with backup, recovery, replication, disaster recovery, high availability, and business continuity capabilities.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana, Azure Monitor, Snowflake monitoring capabilities, and database performance tools.
  • Understanding of DevOps and DataOps principles, source control, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, configuration management, and release governance.
  • Ability to automate operational tasks using scripting languages, APIs, infrastructure automation frameworks, database-native tools, and cloud automation capabilities.
  • Experience supporting hybrid environments spanning legacy, on-premises, hosted, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Ability to identify technical risks, operational gaps, capacity constraints, performance concerns, and supportability issues and recommend remediation plans.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders, vendors, and technology leadership and mentor technical team members.
  • Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, regulated-industry experience, additional Snowflake, Azure, Oracle, PostgreSQL, EDB Postgres, SQL Server, data warehousing, DataOps, DevOps, infrastructure-as-code, BI, Salesforce Data Cloud, and relevant technical certifications.
