Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of core 3D reconstruction, image processing, scene understanding, and visualization components.
- Drive technical decisions and contribute to product and software architecture for next-generation photogrammetry workflows.
- Develop performant and reliable algorithms for processing images, point clouds, textured meshes, and Gaussian splats at scale.
- Advance computer vision, photogrammetry, machine learning, and computer graphics through research, prototyping, and product integration.
- Mentor team members on clean code, maintainable architecture, testing, and performance engineering.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to deliver features aligned with user needs.
- Ensure software quality through code reviews, automated testing, profiling, and continuous improvement.
- Help shape product vision by understanding reality-capture user workflows and challenges.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in image processing, computer vision, computer graphics, photogrammetry, or related fields.
- Expert-level C++ skills, including modern C++ standards and performance optimization.
- Experience designing and delivering complex software components in production environments.
- Ability to research, design, implement, test, debug, and work efficiently in large shared codebases.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Geomatics Engineering, or a related field.
- Desire to mentor and continue developing team communication and self-leadership skills.
- Fluent English; German is a plus.
- Existing authorization to work in Germany.
- Preferred: scalable algorithm design and performance-critical systems experience.
- Preferred: GPU computing and large-scale image or point-cloud pipeline experience.
- Preferred: knowledge of Esri software.
- Preferred: master’s degree in Computer Science, Geomatics Engineering, or a related field.
