Base Salary
$111k - $221k/yr
Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior technical leader for eCommerce and portal engineering initiatives.
- Lead the design, development, modernization, and technical execution of scalable customer-facing and partner-facing digital platforms.
- Make complex design decisions across applications, services, APIs, integrations, and enterprise platforms.
- Establish software engineering, coding, secure development, code review, testing, performance, and observability standards.
- Guide cloud-enabled, API-driven, service-oriented, composable, modular, and headless application approaches.
- Lead integrations with ERP, CRM, identity and access management, product information management, content management, payment, order management, analytics, and reporting systems.
- Drive API standards and event-based integration patterns while enabling reusable services and shared capabilities.
- Ensure performance, scalability, security, availability, recoverability, production readiness, and operational supportability.
- Support incident response, root cause analysis, monitoring, logging, alerting, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor engineers, contribute to hiring and onboarding, facilitate alignment across engineering workstreams, and communicate technical recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Typically 10+ years of software engineering experience, including significant enterprise application development experience.
- At least 3 years in a staff, principal, lead, or equivalent senior technical role.
- Strong hands-on experience building and supporting large-scale eCommerce, portal, or other customer-facing web applications.
- Deep knowledge of microservices, RESTful APIs, event-driven architecture, distributed systems, and domain-driven design.
- Strong proficiency in one or more of Java, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.
- Experience with front-end frameworks, modern web application architecture, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, source control, and DevSecOps practices.
- Strong understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, and data protection.
- Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Preferred qualifications include B2B eCommerce, customer portals, enterprise self-service applications, commerce and content platforms, identity providers, headless or composable digital platforms, containers and Kubernetes, caching, search, observability, performance engineering, regulated industries, and enterprise architecture governance.
