$171k - $232k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, scale, and operate EWOK’s distributed failover and disaster recovery platform.
- Build and operate highly available, scalable services on AWS infrastructure.
- Develop distributed orchestration, cross-region replication, and automated testing capabilities.
- Collaborate with Product and Platform Development teams on highly available cloud architectures.
- Participate in on-call and support rotations, incident recovery, resolution, and root cause analysis.
- Debug and resolve defects across QA, pre-production, production, and post-release environments.
- Author architecture design documents and influence cross-functional technical decisions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience delivering production-grade distributed systems at scale.
- Deep proficiency with AWS architecture, including IAM, Route 53, Step Functions, DynamoDB, VPC networking, and cross-region data replication.
- Strong production experience with Python and Go, including concurrency, systems programming, and high-reliability backend services.
- Practical understanding of disaster recovery patterns, circuit breakers, distributed state management, and chaos engineering principles.
- Proficiency with AI-assisted engineering tools such as Copilot and LLM agents, together with first-principles debugging and code verification.
- Ability to communicate complex technical trade-offs, write clear architecture design documents, and influence technical decisions.
- BS/MS in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
