Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the real-time embedded Linux platform and its networked subsystems.
- Develop and improve operating-system functionality for the autonomous medical device.
- Build nightly automated performance testing and regression detection for device software.
- Profile, debug, and resolve complex real-time performance, reliability, and system-level issues.
- Analyze interactions between C/C++ applications, operating-system behavior, hardware, and networking.
- Improve diagnostics, software updates, patching, and support capabilities for devices in development and the field.
- Own embedded software backlog items and contribute to root-cause analysis and in-field issue resolution.
Requirements
- Strong background in real-time embedded Linux and networked subsystems.
- Proficiency in embedded software development using C/C++.
- Hands-on experience profiling and debugging on Linux.
- Solid understanding of automated performance testing and regression detection.
- Familiarity with software update and patching mechanisms for large software artifacts.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level issues.
- Ability to work across application software, operating systems, and hardware.
- Familiarity with CAN bus protocols is desirable, and EtherCAT experience is a plus.
- Background in regulated industries such as medical devices, automotive, aerospace, or defence is desirable.
- Experience with software updates, remote diagnostics, device provisioning, post-market support, or in-field device support is desirable.
- Knowledge of AWS IoT Core or comparable device-cloud platforms is desirable.
- Understanding of embedded or device security principles is desirable.
