Base Salary
$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize scalable components for OCI’s distributed file storage platform.
- Build fault-tolerant systems using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts.
- Operate and continuously improve a mission-critical Tier 1 cloud service against strict availability, performance, and reliability SLAs.
- Develop functional, performance, load, fault-injection, and brown-out tests.
- Create dashboards, telemetry, alarms, alerting mechanisms, runbooks, and operational procedures.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues, participate in support rotations and incident response, and conduct root-cause investigations.
- Develop automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code tooling for troubleshooting and cloud infrastructure maintenance.
- Apply encryption, access controls, security remediation, compliance, documentation, and change-management practices.
- Collaborate with product management, architects, engineering leaders, compute teams, networking teams, and other infrastructure groups.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architecture discussions, design reviews, code reviews, testing strategies, and operational best practices.
Requirements
- Experience designing and implementing distributed systems with scalability, resiliency, operability, and large-scale data processing requirements.
- Ability to develop high-performance storage solutions and data retrieval, replication, synchronization, and failover mechanisms.
- Experience with performance and load testing, monitoring, telemetry, alerting, troubleshooting, and incident response.
- Ability to create automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code for cloud infrastructure operations.
- Knowledge of security controls such as encryption, access controls, remediation, and compliance practices for multi-tenant environments.
- Ability to track work with minimal supervision, troubleshoot standard and non-standard issues, and collaborate across teams.
- Experience providing technical guidance, participating in design and code reviews, and mentoring engineers.
