Base Salary
$148k - $222k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own ambiguous and complex engineering problems from concept through production, including defining success metrics, aligning stakeholders, and leading small delivery teams.
- Build and maintain features for App Builder, the Workday CLI, and other developer tools with emphasis on scalability, performance, and developer experience.
- Collaborate with engineers, product owners, designers, and cross-functional partners to scope, plan, test, and ship software.
- Troubleshoot the existing architecture and codebase and identify opportunities to improve platform health and maintainability.
- Improve developer onboarding, documentation, tooling, team productivity, and engineering practices.
- Support release planning by evaluating feature effort, risk, and priority.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional experience building and supporting multi-tier or full-stack web software.
- 4+ years of deep proficiency with TypeScript/JavaScript, including mandatory React experience.
- 4+ years of Node.js experience developing backend services.
- 4+ years of experience developing APIs and managing complex third-party API integrations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with LLM integration strategies, streaming, tool/function calling, agentic architectures, and the Model Context Protocol.
- Experience with production-grade backend services, real-time streaming, application observability, testing frameworks, and CI/CD workflows.
- Experience with modern frontend technologies, design systems, and reusable component libraries.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including work across shared security and compliance dependencies and technical writing.
- CLI development with Node.js or Go, cloud technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, and Helm, and AI coding tools such as Cursor or Claude Code are advantageous but not required.
