Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Roboflow’s open source and commercial computer vision inference engine.
- Develop an agentic contribution pipeline for automated and semi-automated review, triage, testing, and releases.
- Design and expand a world-grounded test suite covering standalone and on-platform targets with nightly end-to-end runs.
- Define and enforce review standards and contributor and agent guardrails.
- Streamline the process for adding new computer vision and ML models to the inference engine.
- Teach and enable internal teams, Field Engineers, Support, and customers.
- Translate inference capabilities into documentation, demos, stories, and launches with engineering, marketing, and client-facing teams.
- Contribute to and grow the project’s broader open source community.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience building and operating production-grade ML systems, ideally involving large-scale deployment of modern AI models.
- Strong computer vision and machine learning foundation, including understanding model internals and deployment across diverse environments.
- Fluency with AI coding agents and experience using them to automate review, triage, testing, and CI processes.
- Strong computer science and systems background with the ability to solve complex programming, architecture, and reliability challenges independently.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD, release engineering, and test infrastructure.
- Practical expertise with several of PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, TensorRT, vLLM, or other model deployment tools.
- Strong image and video processing proficiency with several of OpenCV, DeepStream, Pillow, PyAV, or hardware-accelerated video decoding.
- Video streaming protocol experience is advantageous.
- Excellent communication, teaching, writing, cross-functional collaboration, and public-facing skills.
- Open source maintenance experience is a strong plus.
