Base Salary
$109k - $136k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and ship pet parent- and provider-facing pricing features end to end.
- Turn loosely defined requirements into plans and drive projects through production.
- Diagnose issues across the team’s technical domain and apply monitoring practices to production systems.
- Write clear, well-tested code and contribute to code reviews and architectural discussions.
- Communicate status, blockers, and priorities while maintaining documentation and improving team processes.
- Collaborate with product, design, data science, senior engineers, and the manager.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- Backend engineering experience, ideally with Python and Django; experience with Java, Go, C#, or Kotlin is also welcome.
- Working knowledge of web application development, ideally with React or a similar modern frontend framework.
- Familiarity with relational databases and basic schema design.
- Experience or developing comfort with structured logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and understanding production system behavior.
- Solid automated testing habits, including unit and integration tests.
- Daily professional use of AI coding assistants such as Claude Code or Copilot, including validating and critically reviewing generated output.
