Base Salary
$200k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build scalable, centralized, validated representations of vendor and proprietary datasets for internal consumers.
- Review vendor documentation and liaise with external vendors to understand and improve incoming data.
- Analyze data behavior and implement controls to identify and resolve issues during daily processing.
- Own and evolve the firm’s instrument and security master across asset classes.
- Design and maintain models for core reference, fundamental, market, index, and exchange datasets.
- Partner with quantitative researchers and traders to deliver data optimized for research and trading workflows.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship on data quality, testing, and system design.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience with strong Python proficiency.
- At least 5 years working on reference data or security master systems in an engineering capacity.
- Familiarity with identifiers, corporate actions, exchange and venue data, and calendar data used in security masters.
- Strong understanding of fundamental and market datasets, including index and exchange data.
- Understanding of data modeling in modern quantitative or proprietary trading firms.
- Strong unit-testing and test-driven coding practices.
- Experience with data storage formats, filesystems, and event queues is preferred.
- Hands-on experience working in a Linux environment.
- Experience in high-frequency trading or similar proprietary trading firms is a strong plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with willingness to develop additional technical skills.
