Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management for consistent delivery environments.
- Optimize deployment workflows and support repeatable release processes for varied product and customer requirements.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system performance, reliability, and distributed-system integrations.
- Design and manage infrastructure using cloud services, containerization, and orchestration tools.
- Collaborate with development, QA, security, product, and operations teams on deployment and delivery strategies.
- Evaluate technologies, improve operational tooling, and document deployment and release best practices.
- Mentor junior DevOps engineers and conduct code and process reviews.
- Coordinate release readiness activities and configuration control of development environments.
- Support operational capabilities for fielded aerospace and national security solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps or a related role.
- In the absence of a degree, at least 12 years of related experience is required.
- Software development experience with an object-oriented language such as Java, Python, C#, C++, or Go.
- Experience implementing microservices, containerized systems, and cloud-native applications.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift and related container platform ecosystems.
- Experience working with multiple cloud vendors and managed Kubernetes services, including Azure Kubernetes Service and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service.
- Experience with GitHub and on-premises Azure DevOps.
- Significant experience with Linux and release engineering, CI, and CD pipelines.
- Experience working in Scrum or Kanban models and delivering reliable systems for development teams.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments.
- Preferred master’s degree in a related field and aerospace or defense industry experience.
- Preferred AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Developer/Solutions Architect, RHCSA, Red Hat Containers and Kubernetes, CKAD, or CKA certification.
- Advanced proficiency with Ansible, including developing and maintaining playbooks.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. security clearance.
