Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the mainframe insurance application.
- Assist with converting insurance business functionality from the mainframe platform to the Guidewire P&C Insurance application.
- Refine system change requirements and participate in design sessions.
- Present ideas to groups with diverse roles and skill levels and collaborate with team members.
- Provide application production environment support on a rotational day and night schedule.
Requirements
- Experience programming in COBOL within a z/OS mainframe environment.
- Ability to analyze programs and understand the current state of applications.
- Experience with COBOL, DB2, JCL, CICS, ISPW, and other mainframe application development skills.
- Proficiency in most mainframe application development tools, including Sycnsort, Xpediter, SAR, FileAid, and Abend-Aid.
- Prior insurance or property-casualty domain experience is preferred.
- Previous experience with Agile teams or understanding of Agile concepts is preferred.
- Willingness and desire to learn new skills.
