Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Java and/or Python.
- Build, integrate, and enhance AI-powered workflows and automation solutions within enterprise applications and business processes.
- Develop REST APIs, backend services, and system integrations connecting applications, AI capabilities, and business workflows.
- Use AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Devin for coding, testing, debugging, and productivity.
- Manage technical deliverables from design through implementation while collaborating with business and technology stakeholders.
- Maintain code quality, solve complex technical problems, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Ideally 6+ years of hands-on backend development experience using Java and/or Python, with equivalent technical expertise considered.
- Solid understanding of backend architecture, REST APIs, microservices, system integrations, and modern software engineering practices.
- Practical experience creating, integrating, or automating AI-powered workflows within enterprise applications and business processes.
- Familiarity with Large Language Models and AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Devin, or equivalent platforms.
- Ability to manage technical deliverables, solve complex problems, adapt to unfamiliar technology environments, and learn new technologies effectively.
- Preferred experience includes lending, structured finance, securitization, banking, capital markets, regulated financial services, generative AI, AI agents, LLM integration, or AI workflow orchestration.
Benefits
- Base salary range of $92,000–$118,000 CAD annually.
- May be eligible for an annual discretionary or variable bonus.
