Responsibilities
- Investigate product software problems, identify causal mechanisms, recommend corrective actions, own resolution, and document results.
- Design, construct, implement, test, verify, and release software that controls Cummins products.
- Translate stakeholder needs into verifiable system requirements, acceptance criteria, architectures, and technical specifications.
- Deliver verified software features, components, and builds while collaborating with product and software development teams.
- Apply software development processes and tools including coding, compiling, integration, static analysis, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
- Perform product function modeling, simulation, analysis, failure-mode avoidance, validation planning, and product risk assessment.
- Analyze requirements, designs, test results, statistical data, and system interactions to support product decisions.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and contribute to product development planning, execution, monitoring, and control.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and communicate information to stakeholders and development teams.
Requirements
- Required: bachelor's degree in engineering or an appropriate STEM field.
- A relevant master's degree may be required for select roles.
- Entry-level or early-career professional status is expected.
- Relevant experience in temporary student employment, an internship, co-op, extracurricular technical team, or an early-career technical discipline is preferred.
- Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.
- The position may require licensing for export-control or sanctions-regulation compliance.
