Responsibilities
- Contribute to V&V and IV&V activities for flight software, covering functional, performance, and safety requirements.
- Maintain requirements management and full traceability from system requirements through implementation, testing, and verification artifacts.
- Prepare and review software certification documentation and materials for NASA Safety Reviews.
- Interpret, tailor, and apply formal software and aerospace standards.
- Interface with Product Assurance, system engineering, software development teams, certification bodies, and safety authorities.
- Develop and maintain the software functional design baseline.
- Plan testing for the integrated mission and support resolution of technical issues and requirements clarification.
- Use C++ and Python in software design and test discussions.
Requirements
- Experience with safety-critical or highly regulated software systems, preferably in aerospace.
- Strong understanding of requirements management, V&V, testing, and software certification processes.
- Strong software engineering background with practical experience in flight software frameworks and modern C++.
- Experience with real-time systems, embedded development, or spacecraft software.
- Familiarity with software testing methodologies and simulation tools.
- Excellent cross-disciplinary communication and collaboration skills, with strong attention to detail, quality, and testing.
- Familiarity with modern development practices.
- Preferred: familiarity with SSP 50808, NASA-NPR-7150.2, NASA-STD-8739.8B, RCC319, or ECSS-Q-ST-80C.
- Preferred: experience with human-rated spaceflight programs, model-based systems engineering, CI/CD systems, or build systems.
