Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, program, debug, and modify firmware applications with guidance from senior engineers.
- Contribute to embedded firmware development, improvements, testing, and process or standards compliance for drives products.
- Apply object-oriented analysis and design principles and real-time development practices using C/C++, Python, and scripting languages.
- Write unit and integration tests while maintaining traceability between requirements and testing.
- Investigate firmware anomalies with functional test, customer support, and other teams, and help debug and resolve them.
- Follow and improve coding standards, code reviews, documentation, engineering processes, and cybersecurity practices.
- Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams and progressively take ownership of well-defined firmware modules.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline with coursework or projects in embedded systems or firmware.
- Fresh graduates are eligible; no prior full-time experience is required.
- Foundation in C/C++ programming, data structures, embedded systems, and firmware engineering.
- Experience through internships, final-year projects, or personal projects involving embedded C/C++, microcontrollers, real-time systems, or communication protocols is highly valued.
- Working knowledge of Python or scripting languages.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering is advantageous but not required.
- Familiarity with Git or similar version control tools, Green Hills Integrity OS, Multi IDE, Jira, and Jama is preferred.
- Awareness of embedded and industrial cybersecurity concepts, cybersecurity training or certification, and security testing tools such as Achilles and Burp Suite is preferred.
- Familiarity with CIP and CIP Security protocols is preferred.
- Ability to work with Agile and Scrum processes, debug effectively, write clean maintainable code, learn independently, and collaborate in a matrixed organization.
