Responsibilities
- Define the technical direction of core payment domains beyond feature development.
- Own the stability, scalability, security, and performance of core payment services, including Coupay.
- Identify complex technical challenges and design and implement fundamental solutions for payment services used by tens of millions of customers.
- Lead the architecture of payment back-office, settlement, and reconciliation systems.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Treasury, and other Fintech engineering teams.
- Improve operational stability across payment and financial systems.
- Elevate organizational technical standards through code reviews, design reviews, and technical guidance.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of backend engineering experience.
- Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems based on Java or Kotlin and the Spring Framework.
- Experience owning and proactively improving complex services or domains.
- Ability to design systems with strong consideration for performance, reliability, data consistency, and security.
- Experience structuring ambiguous problems and making technical decisions that create tangible business impact.
- Ability to translate customer experience and business requirements into well-architected technical solutions.
- Preferred: experience leading architecture design and migration in JPA- and MSA-based environments.
- Preferred: payment or fintech development and operations experience.
- Preferred: experience with incident response, monitoring, and SLA improvements in high-traffic environments.
- Preferred: experience processing large-scale data while ensuring settlement and reconciliation accuracy.
- Preferred: technical leadership experience in agile software development environments.
- Preferred: experience influencing engineers through technical judgment and system design decisions.
