Base Salary
$134k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate golden-path self-service systems for engineers across the company.
- Reduce developer toil through automation and productized developer tooling.
- Implement AI-driven SDLC capabilities including AI-assisted code generation, code review, test generation, and agentic workflows.
- Evaluate AI’s effect on delivery speed, quality, and developer satisfaction to guide the platform roadmap.
- Partner with security, CI/CD, and application engineering teams to establish standards without creating bottlenecks.
- Contribute to the evolution of the developer portal and platform products.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in platform engineering or developer experience at a mid-to-large engineering organization.
- Experience designing and operating opinionated systems at scale that hundreds of engineers depend on daily.
- Demonstrated success reducing developer toil through automation rather than documentation alone.
- Working understanding of AI-driven SDLC models, AI tools and agents, and related risks and governance considerations.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to create self-explanatory tooling and documentation.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with security, CI/CD, and application engineering teams.
- Strongly preferred background at a company with a strong platform culture.
- Preferred experience with Backstage or similar developer portal frameworks.
- Preferred familiarity with enterprise compliance requirements, audit trails, change evidence, and vulnerability scanning integration.
- Preferred hands-on experience integrating LLM-based or agentic tools into developer workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
- Preferred experience measuring engineering effectiveness using DORA metrics, lead time for change, or delivery velocity.
