Responsibilities
- Design and build a web-based application for network modelling and optimisation.
- Transform desktop-based tools into scalable cloud-hosted solutions for Fixed Networks.
- Set up and maintain cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, databases and secure environments.
- Develop APIs, data pipelines and integrations that combine multiple data sources.
- Implement secure-by-design practices, including identity and access management and single sign-on.
- Improve code quality, automation and deployment pipelines for reliable delivery.
- Modernise and migrate existing modelling tools while improving their performance and capabilities.
- Contribute to network modelling, simulations and optimisation work as the platform evolves.
Requirements
- Commercial experience building software with Python and JavaScript, including technologies such as React, NextJS or TypeScript.
- Experience hosting applications in on-premises or private-cloud environments across virtual machines and internal platforms.
- Commercial experience applying security best practices, identity and access management, and secure application development.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Experience building or consuming APIs is desirable.
- Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes is desirable.
- Ability to design and work with databases, including SQL and schema design, is desirable.
- Understanding of software engineering practices including automation, version control and testing is desirable.
- Interest in algorithms, optimisation or modelling problems is desirable.
- Experience modernising or migrating legacy systems to cloud-based architectures is desirable.
