Responsibilities
- Define cybersecurity requirements for software applications.
- Recommend security engineering practices throughout the system development lifecycle.
- Assess cybersecurity requirement compliance using manual and automated software analysis tools.
- Perform adversarial assessments of network-enabled and web applications to identify weaknesses and vulnerabilities.
- Propose mitigations and countermeasures for software-level threats.
- Interface with software development teams to apply security engineering principles throughout the development lifecycle.
- Administer and harden Linux systems, including security settings, services, STIGs, and security policies.
- Troubleshoot and support system recovery after unexpected configuration changes.
- Prepare compliance, vulnerability, and formal technical documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, IT, or a related field, or equivalent professional or military experience.
- IAT Level II certification required immediately upon hire and maintained through continuing education.
- Experience with software engineering, development, or systems engineering across the system development lifecycle.
- Experience with systems administration, Linux, system hardening, threat assessment, offensive security tools, and adversarial techniques.
- Knowledge of implementing software application solutions that comply with NIST SP 800-53 security controls.
- Understanding of risk and compliance frameworks.
- U.S. citizenship and a current SECRET security clearance, with the ability to attain TOP SECRET/SCI clearance.
- Preferred understanding of DoD acquisition and cybersecurity processes, including RMF.
- Security+ certification preferred.
- Shell scripting or Python experience is a plus.
