Lead Software Developer - Platform Security

Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end software development for security data pipelines from ingestion through canonical data stores and downstream consumers.
- Own architecture for endpoint protection platforms, including System Design Records and Architecture Decision Records.
- Design and build APIs, policy evaluation engines, integration adapter registries, and projection and aggregation services.
- Drive reliability through availability monitoring, alerting frameworks, infrastructure hardening, and MTTR reduction.
- Set team standards for code quality, design consistency, documentation, reviews, and release execution.
- Mentor engineers through pull request reviews, sprint planning, technical deep dives, and architecture guidance.
- Collaborate with security architects, platform teams, infrastructure, operations, product development, and partner engineering organizations.
- Audit cloud infrastructure against security standards and develop and execute remediation plans.
- Research threat intelligence, consume threat feeds, track adversaries, investigate vulnerabilities, and defend against active attacks.
- Architect, configure, manage, and deploy technologies that improve intrusion prevention and detection.
- Support rotating on-call operations, including major incidents across time zones.
- Communicate technical reports and performance presentations to engineering, executive, customer, and industry audiences.
Requirements
- 7+ years of core software development experience with mastery of multiple programming languages and platforms.
- Strong experience with database engineering, API development, data pipeline construction, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems.
- Experience delivering sophisticated software projects across the full lifecycle and through multiple public releases.
- Experience with infrastructure hardening, operational reliability, alerting, availability monitoring, and MTTR reduction.
- Ability to design systems at scale, conduct architecture reviews, create design documentation, and align cross-functional teams and leadership on technical roadmaps.
- Ability to solve complex performance and scalability challenges across multiple projects.
- Experience with engineering processes including pull request reviews, design reviews, sprint execution, documentation, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and short release cycles.
- Ability to mentor engineers and foster cross-functional technical collaboration.
- A related technical degree is required.
- 5+ years of experience in a computer network-related occupation is desired.
- 2+ years of experience with Unix/Linux system administration, Windows environments, hardening guidelines, AWS, GCP, Azure, public and private cloud infrastructure, and building and operating secure infrastructures is desired.
- Experience with security engineering, vulnerability analysis, firewalls, encryption technologies, TCP/IP networking, OSI stack, TCP, SDN, Python, Ruby, cryptographic standards, and host-, network-, and application-security practices is desired.
- Familiarity with Endpoint Detect and Response, vulnerability scanning, security tooling ecosystems, and security data pipelines is a plus.
