Base Salary
$177k - $365k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive capacity and efficiency improvements in large-scale shared environments such as Kubernetes, including scheduling optimization, resource-overhead reduction, and resource isolation.
- Improve the performance and efficiency of large-scale distributed systems.
- Use profiling and performance tools to investigate root causes, propose solutions, and partner with owning teams through implementation and validation.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering and SRE teams to build highly available, resilient, secure, and efficient foundations.
- Build AI-assisted tooling and agents that provide self-service efficiency insights and recommendations, and validate optimization impact through experiments and production guardrails.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Deep understanding of infrastructure capacity and performance, including CPU, memory, operating-system scheduling, and I/O fundamentals.
- Experience leading large-scale efficiency initiatives on Kubernetes or comparable shared infrastructure.
- Strong performance-engineering skills and fluency with tools such as perf and async-profiler.
- Experience building and managing highly available distributed applications at scale.
- Proficiency in Java, Python, and C++.
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud environments.
- Ability to communicate complex technical issues and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI productively while critically evaluating and verifying AI-assisted work.
- High integrity, ownership, data protection practices, and accountability for final decisions and deliverables.
- Hands-on experience with large cloud-native, multi-tenant platforms at Internet scale is preferred.
