Base Salary
$177k - $365k/yr
Responsibilities
- Improve the efficiency of large-scale shared environments such as Kubernetes.
- Improve the performance and efficiency of large-scale distributed systems supporting Pinterest.
- Build, develop, and mature profiling and optimization capabilities at Pinterest scale.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering and SRE teams to deliver highly available, resilient, secure, and efficient infrastructure foundations.
- Use AI to accelerate performance investigations, build self-service efficiency tooling and agents, iterate on optimization approaches, and validate impact with experiments and production guardrails.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Deep understanding of infrastructure capacity and performance.
- Experience leading efficiency initiatives at scale on Kubernetes or other large-scale shared infrastructure.
- Strong software development and performance engineering skills for complex distributed-system challenges.
- Experience building and managing highly available distributed applications at scale.
- Proficiency in languages such as Java, Python, and C++.
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud environments.
- Experience using AI to improve workflow speed and quality, with strong verification through testing, source-checking, data validation, or peer review.
- Ability to protect sensitive data, avoid over-reliance on AI, and remain accountable for decisions and deliverables.
- Hands-on experience with large cloud-native, multi-tenant platforms at Internet scale is a bonus.
