Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements into technical data engineering needs.
- Gather, organize, and analyze large and complex data assets.
- Ensure data quality in coordination with Data Analysts and Data Scientists.
- Create relevant data models and optimize query performance.
- Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines for business requirements.
- Partner with Product Owners, Data Analysts, and Data Scientists to prioritize and deliver pipeline implementations.
- Create or leverage standard data pipelines to support enterprise business use cases.
- Enforce best practices in data manipulation and contribute to the data governance community.
- Stay current with company standards, industry practices, and emerging technologies.
- Communicate results and findings in a structured manner.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field.
- 1 or 2 years of experience.
- Good knowledge of SQL and relational database technologies and concepts.
- Familiarity with data modeling and query tuning.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of agile and Scrum development processes and concepts.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Strong problem-solving, service orientation, flexibility, attention to detail, and technical intuition.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for executive-level collaboration.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Preferred familiarity with data warehousing, integration services, CI/CD pipelines, scripting languages, source code management, visualization tools, project management tools, and service management tools.
- Experience in the life sciences or pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
