Responsibilities
- Design and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests for enterprise applications.
- Develop and maintain JMeter and API performance test scripts, workload models, test data, and execution scenarios.
- Analyze application, database, JVM, infrastructure, and network performance to identify bottlenecks.
- Monitor CPU, memory, database, JVM, I/O, and response-time behavior during load tests.
- Perform root-cause analysis using application logs, monitoring tools, AWR/ASH reports, thread dumps, heap dumps, and GC logs.
- Collaborate with Developers, QA, DBAs, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues.
- Analyze test results and prepare performance reports, dashboards, and recommendations.
- Support capacity planning, scalability assessments, production-readiness reviews, and release planning.
- Identify opportunities to automate performance testing, monitoring, and reporting.
- Communicate performance findings, risks, and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in performance testing or performance engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with JMeter and performance test scripting.
- Understanding of load, stress, endurance, scalability, and volume testing.
- Experience with API performance testing using REST/HTTP, JSON/XML, and Postman.
- Understanding of Java/JVM, including heap, threads, garbage collection, and JVM tuning.
- Experience with JProfiler, Eclipse MAT, thread and heap dumps, and GC logs.
- Experience with Linux/Unix, shell scripting, and application or log analysis.
- Knowledge of SQL and database performance, preferably Oracle, including AWR/ASH and execution-plan analysis with OEM.
- Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, InfluxDB, or equivalent monitoring tools.
- Understanding of Kubernetes and containerized environments; exposure to OCI/Azure is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple performance-testing activities within timelines.
