Responsibilities
- Lead SRE practices and initiatives to improve availability, reliability, scalability, performance, and operational efficiency of AWS applications and infrastructure.
- Design and implement highly available and resilient AWS architectures.
- Drive DevOps automation and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation/CDK, Ansible, and Python or Shell.
- Design and manage CI/CD pipelines focused on deployment automation and release reliability.
- Establish observability practices covering metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting, and proactive detection.
- Own incident, problem, and change management, including production troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and prevention of recurring incidents.
- Define and track SRE metrics and practices, including SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, error budgets, availability, latency, MTTR, MTBF, and capacity metrics.
- Implement automation and self-healing mechanisms to reduce manual operational work and improve MTTR and reliability.
- Develop and maintain backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, scalability, and capacity-management strategies.
- Lead and mentor SRE/DevOps engineers, conduct technical reviews, establish engineering standards, and improve organizational DevOps and SRE maturity.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of AWS services including EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS/Aurora, CloudFront, Route 53, and CloudWatch.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation/CDK, Ansible, Python, and Shell/Bash.
- Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, ECS, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, and related observability technologies.
- Knowledge of Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, networking, load balancers, DNS, and TCP/IP.
- Experience with SLI/SLO/SLA practices, error budgets, incident management, root-cause analysis, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and large-scale production AWS environments.
- AWS certification such as AWS Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or SysOps Administrator is preferred.
- Experience leading or mentoring SRE/DevOps engineers and collaborating with development, security, and architecture teams.
