Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain scalable Java full stack applications and brokerage platform capabilities.
- Build backend services with Java and Spring Boot and frontend solutions with React.
- Design and consume RESTful APIs, develop database solutions, and support service-oriented integrations.
- Perform unit, component, integration, and regression testing and participate in peer code reviews.
- Provide application maintenance, production support, monitoring, configuration management, deployment support, and performance tuning.
- Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, resolve production issues, and improve operational stability.
- Translate business and technology requirements into technical solutions with analysts, designers, infrastructure, QA, and business teams.
- Provide technical input on scope, estimation, timelines, risks, dependencies, implementation, and solution design.
- Follow secure coding, enterprise governance, architecture, quality, and technology delivery standards.
- Recommend improvements to development practices, automation, testing coverage, deployment processes, and application maintainability.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 11 or later, including core Java, object-oriented design, collections, concurrency, and modern development practices.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot, relational databases, data modeling, query optimization, and SQL development.
- Proven experience designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs and service-oriented integrations.
- Strong experience with microservices architecture, including service decomposition, API contracts, resiliency, observability, and deployment considerations.
- Hands-on experience with React and modern frontend development, including reusable components, state management, and backend-service integration.
- Financial-institution Java development experience and knowledge of enterprise controls, regulatory expectations, and production support are preferred.
- Python experience for automation, scripting, data analysis, or support tooling is preferred.
- Experience in Prime Brokerage, Securities Finance, or related capital-markets domains is preferred.
- Experience with Broadridge BPSA or similar brokerage processing platforms is an advantage.
- Candidates should be able to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders and collaborate across business and technology teams.
