Responsibilities
- Own the technical design, architecture, and integration of Valkey/Redis-compatible and SQL Server managed services into the STACKIT sovereign cloud.
- Automate deployment, replication, backup, and patching processes to create a self-service DBaaS model.
- Build Golang-based APIs using gRPC and infrastructure automation to control managed services.
- Design highly available, fault-tolerant caching solutions and optimize configuration and capacity for customer demand.
- Own services throughout their lifecycle, including Kubernetes orchestration, monitoring, and incident post-mortems.
- Guide product technical direction, mentor team members, and promote modern reliability engineering practices.
Requirements
- Strong foundations in distributed, scalable, and highly available system design.
- Proficiency in Golang and experience building reliable infrastructure-control APIs.
- Experience with Terraform or Ansible for infrastructure automation.
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability ecosystems such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Fluent English communication skills for collaboration in an international team.
- Preferred: deep knowledge of Valkey or Redis architectures, clustering, high availability, and performance tuning.
- Preferred: experience with Kubernetes, containers, and Kubernetes Operators for database orchestration.
- Preferred: knowledge of data-in-transit and data-at-rest security and network isolation in cloud environments.
