Responsibilities

  • Design and implement embedded software for automotive Ethernet switches according to ISO 26262 ASIL B and MISRA C guidelines.
  • Derive and document software requirements and test specifications from system-level requirements with full V-Model traceability.
  • Design software architecture, component interfaces, state machines, and sequence diagrams using UML and PlantUML.
  • Set up and maintain development environments, build systems, automated test setups, and unit-testing frameworks.
  • Conduct software integration testing and debugging on hardware-in-the-loop systems.
  • Collaborate with hardware, system engineering, and validation teams to troubleshoot interdisciplinary issues and optimize system performance.

Requirements

  • University degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field.
  • At least 9 years of hands-on embedded software design and development experience, including 2–3 years in automotive or safety-critical domains.
  • Expert-level C programming experience for RTOS and bare-metal development.
  • Python skills for test automation are highly preferred.
  • Experience working with microcontrollers, sensors, laboratory equipment, Lauterbach TRACE32, Vector CANoe, or JTAG/SWD debugging and tracing tools.
  • Experience with ISO 26262, ASIL B, and Automotive SPICE processes.
  • Basic understanding of Ethernet stack protocols is a strong plus.
  • Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
