Base Salary
$240k - $330k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define the multi-year machine learning roadmap for the Omnitag multimodal data-mining platform.
- Own ML data pipelines and the active-learning loop, including teacher-model alignment, student-model distillation, and automated curation.
- Design and implement systems for applying billion-parameter models to autonomous-vehicle logs at massive scale.
- Optimize parameter-efficient fine-tuning, inference latency, retrieval, reasoning workflows, system reliability, and cloud footprint.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives across Data Mining, Autonomy, and Infrastructure, including phased rollouts and migrations.
- Coach and directly guide a pod of up to three engineers while improving developer productivity and engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 12+ years of hands-on machine learning engineering experience delivering enterprise-scale ML systems end to end.
- Deep experience training large-scale models, including distributed multi-node GPU training, data curation, evaluation, and debugging.
- Generalist ML expertise spanning large-scale model training, hardware-optimized deployment, and production ML orchestration in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience owning technical roadmaps, making tradeoffs among impact, quality, engineering time, and compute cost, and solving highly complex technical problems.
- Experience leading cross-team initiatives, coordinating rollouts or migrations, and mentoring engineers.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical problems and gain organizational alignment.
- Preferred: MS or PhD, autonomous driving or robotics experience, multimodal foundation-model or embodied-AI experience, and experience with pretraining, post-training, SFT, RLHF, model compression, retrieval, or RL reasoning systems.
- Preferred: experience with model serving using TF Serving, Triton, or TorchServe; MLOps platforms; agentic pipelines; LLM-driven tool-use workflows; or influential publications, patents, or open-source contributions.
- Preferred: experience as a Tech Lead Manager or people manager coaching and growing teams of two to three engineers.
