Responsibilities
- Implement AI-assisted and automation capabilities using approved platforms, SDKs, and services under senior engineer guidance.
- Build, enhance, and maintain secure, well-documented APIs and backend services for platform integrations.
- Apply RESTful design, performance optimization, secure coding, usability, accessibility, and maintainability practices.
- Contribute to frontend and backend web application development, including Ellucian Marketplace experiences.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, code reviews, technical discussions, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver incremental value.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Foundational experience building backend services, APIs, or web applications through internships, coursework, projects, or early professional roles.
- Working knowledge of at least one modern programming language, such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Java.
- Familiarity with web application development and connecting frontends with APIs.
- Exposure to AI, machine learning, or generative AI concepts, including model APIs, inference workflows, prompts, or data pipelines.
- Awareness of secure coding, data privacy, and quality best practices, along with strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
- Preferred familiarity with AWS, Azure, OpenAPI/Swagger, OAuth, authentication and authorization, Git, CI/CD pipelines, SaaS applications, or DevOps fundamentals.
