Responsibilities
- Own the design, architecture, implementation, and iteration of greenfield services and infrastructure for autonomous operations and distributed fleet management.
- Develop data-intensive services that help machine operators visualize and monitor robotics systems.
- Partner with frontend, machine learning, and robotics teams to design technical solutions, prototype rapidly, and experiment effectively.
- Build tooling for autonomous testing, model deployments, and in-field fleet management.
- Establish core backend frameworks, patterns, and infrastructure.
- Maintain high-uptime services through observability, monitoring, and performance tuning.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional experience owning the design, architecture, and implementation of backends for highly complex, business-critical applications.
- Expertise running and maintaining high-uptime services, including observability, monitoring, and performance tuning.
- Experience at a small startup with rapid prototyping and building systems from the ground up.
- Ability to design and implement application architectures from first principles using modern cloud technologies.
- Preferred experience with complex geospatial tooling such as GIS, robotics, construction technology, or command-and-control interfaces.
- Preferred experience managing edge infrastructure and low-latency service-level agreements in dynamic bandwidth environments such as LTE, IoT, or mobile.
- AWS experience is preferred.
