Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support automated workflows using Temporal and other workflow orchestration technologies.
- Integrate AI-assisted development tools into platform engineering workflows for code generation, refactoring, troubleshooting, documentation, and test automation.
- Design, implement, and maintain observability solutions covering build volumes, success and failure rates, component versions, runtime impact, and operational metrics.
- Monitor and troubleshoot platform, workflow, integration, and application issues, perform root-cause analysis, and improve reliability and operational efficiency.
- Partner with application development teams to identify automation opportunities, eliminate manual work, and improve developer experience.
- Lead technical discussions, knowledge-sharing sessions, code reviews, design reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support platform service reliability and availability through monitoring, troubleshooting, and collaboration with engineering and support teams.
- Coach and mentor team members.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience.
- Strong software development experience with Python, Java, Node.js, and modern frameworks, including designing, developing, testing, and supporting scalable production solutions.
- Hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying cloud-native solutions on AWS, including ECS, EKS, AWS Lambda, S3, SNS, SQS, and Step Functions.
- Experience designing and developing workflow automation and orchestration solutions using Temporal or similar platforms.
- Experience designing, developing, and integrating REST APIs and API-based services.
- Experience with platform engineering, CI/CD, Git-based development, and automation practices.
- Experience using AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or ChatGPT.
- Experience implementing monitoring, logging, metrics, tracing, and observability solutions.
- Experience troubleshooting distributed systems, platform integrations, and production issues, including incident resolution and resiliency improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, or HashiCorp Terraform Associate are desirable.
- Experience with Temporal, Backstage, GitLab, Terraform Enterprise, and Jira is desirable.
- Experience with OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Datadog, or Dynatrace is desirable.
- Experience with AI and agent engineering concepts such as tool calling, structured outputs, context engineering, evaluation frameworks, and Model Context Protocol is desirable.
- Experience with cloud-native technologies, containers, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, and enterprise platform engineering environments is desirable.
