Responsibilities
- Lead complex and companywide software engineering initiatives.
- Design and develop API-driven integrations between network platforms and internal systems.
- Build and maintain Python automation frameworks for reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Transform manual operational processes into automated, repeatable, and maintainable workflows.
- Design automation solutions that meet performance, security, reliability, and maintainability standards.
- Partner with network engineering, platform, and technology teams on architecture and infrastructure strategies.
- Lead automation efforts supporting product deployments, service delivery, customer journeys, and API development.
- Use and evaluate AI-assisted development tools and outputs for software design, coding, testing, troubleshooting, and analysis.
- Lead projects and teams or provide peer mentorship.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience or equivalent experience demonstrated through work, training, military experience, or education.
- At least 4 years of Python development experience building automation tools, system integrations, APIs, or workflow orchestration solutions.
- Experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting enterprise software solutions.
- Experience developing and consuming APIs, including authentication, schema validation, error handling, and versioning.
- Experience using source control and modern software development practices, preferably GitHub.
- Preferred experience with network engineering concepts, network infrastructure automation, and Nautobot.
- Preferred experience with FastAPI, Django, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, React, OAuth, MCP, enterprise AI models, OpenAI API specifications, microservices, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native platforms.
- Preferred experience with Red Hat OpenShift, Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, Unix/Linux, MongoDB, and Postman.
- Experience working with legacy infrastructure, modern cloud and container infrastructure, large-scale enterprise environments, and structured change, security, risk, and release processes.
- Ability to assess AI-generated code and recommendations for accuracy, maintainability, security, and operational risk.
