Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and debug mission-focused software and AI-enabled capabilities.
- Build backend services, APIs, integrations, data-processing workflows, prototypes, and proofs of concept.
- Develop and evaluate LLM applications, AI agents, retrieval workflows, automation tools, and model integrations.
- Process structured and unstructured data through ingestion, transformation, validation, and retrieval workflows.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code; participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.
- Collaborate with DevSecOps engineers to containerize, deploy, monitor, and improve applications in cloud and secure environments.
- Evaluate new AI models, frameworks, libraries, and development approaches for R&D use.
- Participate in technical demos, field events, experiments, customer feedback sessions, and approximately 15% travel.
- Document technical decisions, APIs, system behavior, and development approaches.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required due to federal contract requirements.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
- Strong hands-on software development experience, particularly with Python.
- Experience developing backend applications, services, APIs, or data-driven software.
- Experience building, integrating, or supporting AI/ML or generative AI applications.
- Understanding of application design, testing, debugging, version control, and code review.
- Experience with APIs, JSON, databases, and structured or semi-structured data.
- Ability to take technical problems from concept through implementation and demonstration.
- Ability to independently investigate technical problems, evaluate options, and build practical solutions in evolving environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred experience includes an active Secret or higher clearance, defense or national security programs, LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, model APIs, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, LlamaIndex, REST APIs, microservices, SQL or NoSQL databases, AWS or Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Terraform, Helm, MLOps, and constrained or classified environments.
