Base Salary

$130k - $152k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Provide production and administrative support for IBM App Connect, microservices, and API gateway environments.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Kubernetes deployments, scaling, upgrades, cluster operations, and production issues.
  • Support IBM API Connect, Azure API Management, and Kong for traffic management, routing, rate limiting, and API observability.
  • Use Splunk, AppDynamics, Instana, or similar observability tools to monitor system health, analyze logs, investigate issues, and support operational excellence.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
  • Apply SRE practices including incident response, SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, post-mortems, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with application teams, platform administrators, engineers, business stakeholders, and technical and business teams to improve production reliability.
  • Support large-scale production environments and drive reliability and observability improvements.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience, primarily in operations support.
  • Experience providing administrative support for IBM App Connect, microservices, and API gateway technologies.
  • Strong expertise in microservices architecture and practical experience designing, deploying, and supporting distributed production systems.
  • Deep hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes, including deployment management, scaling, upgrades, troubleshooting, cluster operations, reliability, resilience, and performance optimization.
  • Working proficiency with IBM App Connect, IBM API Connect, Azure API Management, and Kong.
  • Experience with traffic management, rate limiting, routing, and API observability.
  • Experience with Splunk, AppDynamics, Instana, or similar tools for log analytics, metrics, traces, dashboards, alerting, and SLO-based monitoring.
  • Ability to diagnose complex production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures.
  • Familiarity with SRE practices including error budgets, SLIs/SLOs, incident response, post-mortems, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience supporting large-scale production environments and enterprise API and microservices platforms is preferred.
  • Strong operational support background, reliability and observability improvement experience, cross-functional collaboration skills, and a customer-focused approach are preferred.
