Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize scalable embedded Linux software for embedded devices and systems.
- Customize and maintain Pre-loader, U-Boot bootloader, and Linux kernel modules for new hardware platforms and features.
- Design and deliver Linux kernel drivers for Ethernet, Flash, SPI, I²C, UART, and other peripherals.
- Perform board bring-up on newly designed hardware, including ARM-based systems.
- Develop custom Ethernet drivers and networking software, including IP protocol functionality.
- Collaborate with hardware engineering, software QA, operations, and global development teams on technical strategy and project delivery.
- Troubleshoot, debug, analyze, and resolve complex technical problems.
- Create and maintain design documentation and functional specifications for software modules.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 15 years of experience developing embedded platform software.
- Hands-on experience with Linux kernel internals, kernel porting, and peripheral driver development.
- Expertise customizing U-Boot and bringing up boards on ARM-based systems.
- Experience developing IP protocols and networking software, including Firewall, Routing, IPv4/IPv6, and VLAN technologies.
- Strong understanding of embedded Linux software design and operating-system concepts such as processes, threads, and interrupts.
- Proficiency in C programming and shell scripting.
- Strong debugging skills using GDB and Lauterbach.
- Experience with the Yocto framework.
- Familiarity with QorIQ Layerscape processors and PCI Express controllers and bus specifications is preferred.
- Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship, permanent U.S. residency, or protected-individual classification for U.S. export-control access.
