Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate safety-critical firmware for Cortex-R5 MCU cores in accordance with ISO 26262.
- Develop peripheral drivers for I2C, SPI, and GPIO and implement hardware abstraction layers and low-level drivers interacting with SoC registers.
- Configure and validate TI TDA4Vx safety mechanisms including lock-step cores, Memory Protection Units, and error signaling modules.
- Lead board bring-up, bootloader development, and system boot-flow configuration for secure and safe operation.
- Architect and implement inter-processor communication between the R5/RTOS safety domain and A72/QNX application domain.
- Develop and optimize real-time and bare-metal applications involving interrupt handling, DMA, task scheduling, and memory management.
- Debug hardware/software interface issues using JTAG debuggers, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers on schematics and hardware requirements and produce technical firmware documentation.
Requirements
- 8–12 years of embedded software development experience with strong C programming for microcontrollers.
- Hands-on experience with TI TDA4Vx/Jacinto 7 platforms and TI Processor SDK or MCU+ SDK.
- Experience developing safety-critical systems compliant with ISO 26262 or IEC 61508.
- Expertise with ARM Cortex-R5 or similar safety-oriented MCUs and bare-metal programming.
- Experience configuring and validating MPU, ECC, and lock-step hardware safety mechanisms.
- Proficiency with a safety-certified RTOS such as ETAS RTA-OS or FreeRTOS.
- Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communication or Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience with Cortex-A72, QNX Neutrino RTOS, MISRA C/C++, static analysis tools, secure boot, cryptographic accelerators, HSMs, multicore optimization, cache coherency, and automotive communication protocols is preferred.
- Experience with Robot Framework, Lauterbach Trace32 or TI XDS probes, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Artifactory is preferred.
