Base Salary
$173k - $245k/yr
Responsibilities
- Identify root causes of systemic issues across the cloud server fleet and drive resolutions that maximize uptime and utilization.
- Write, review, and maintain diagnostic and cloud automation tooling for production server delivery at hyperscale.
- Own diagnostic tooling requirements that help operations teams manage and repair the cloud server fleet.
- Lead escalation, validation, and verification processes for complex cloud tooling, hardware, and product integration issues.
- Analyze fleet health data to prioritize cloud automation opportunities for server repair workflows.
- Collaborate with cloud tooling teams, contribute to development roadmaps, and influence global operating policies and procedures.
- Mentor engineers on cloud fleet issue resolution, tooling improvements, and operational processes.
- Support global cloud data center operations and new site deployments, including travel of up to 25%.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 7 years of experience in production systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, or systems software development for large-scale cloud environments.
- At least 7 years of experience with hardware lifecycle management, fleet automation, or cloud data center operations systems across compute, storage, or networking infrastructure.
- Experience developing systems software or automation tooling in Python, Bash, PHP, C, or C++ for Linux-based production environments at scale.
- Experience configuring and maintaining production systems including web servers, load balancers, relational databases, storage systems, and messaging systems.
- Experience communicating technical designs and cloud infrastructure decisions through written documentation and cross-functional stakeholder alignment.
- Preferred experience with cloud configuration management, infrastructure-as-code systems, data analysis and visualization tools, global data center deployments, hardware qualification, distributed systems monitoring, alerting, and automated remediation pipelines.
