Base Salary

$139k - $233k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the architecture, development, and operation of scalable backend services for distributed systems.
  • Design and implement reliable REST/gRPC APIs and event-driven flows with rate limiting, retries, backoff, and circuit breakers.
  • Implement authentication and authorization for service-to-service and partner integrations, including secrets management and key rotation.
  • Integrate services with enterprise infrastructure, identity, networking, private peering, and observability tooling.
  • Define and monitor SLIs/SLOs and contribute to logging, tracing, alerting, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and on-call operations.
  • Collaborate with security, legal, privacy, enterprise architecture, data, product, and integration teams.
  • Support partner onboarding through contracts, SDKs, and sandbox/testing flows; participate in reviews and maintain documentation and runbooks.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of backend software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in one or more of Go, Java, or Python.
  • Working understanding of distributed systems communication patterns, including REST/gRPC, asynchronous messaging via Pub/Sub, and API-first design.
  • Experience building and supporting scalable, highly available systems in production.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to develop technical leadership skills over time.
  • Preferred: experience building services for physical devices such as vehicles, phones, or IoT systems.
